Big Jim and the Twins!
This side car had everyone drooling all over it!
The quality of the workmanship, and the innovation on this bike were second to none. It was my choice for "Best Engineered Motorcycle of the Event" but that ended up going to Roger Goldammer.
This bike hit the salt in brand new condition, they said they had putted it around in front of the shop but that was about it.
The pictures do not do the paint job on this machine any kind of justice.
The bike went down track fast but the last I heard they had a problem with the serpentine "chain" that connects both motors to the drive wheel.
Looking forward to seeing what this machine can do in 2009!

How cool are the dual gauges. One for each motor.

Young Sporty
This is a Sportster with a great history!

The F.R.C.P. Race team is one class act!
This bike is named "Young Sporty" and for the last 5 years of the BUB events they have showed up and made this bike go faster and faster!

If nothing else Bonneville is a great place to make a fashion statement!

This years Rental car was a Nissan Versa.
I have to give this little car props! It is by far the best rental I have ever had for the event.

Macgyver would have been proud of our Easy-ups this year!
Some of these Easy-ups are on their 5th year of service.
You cannot see it in this shot, but if it were not for liberal amounts of Duct Tape and zip-ties, our little patch of shade would not have been possible!

WHAT?

Z MAN
The guy that puts his head over the blower and cracks the throttle wide open. The guy on the left is just plain crazy!

Team Vision One
I could fill a whole page on these guy's!
Check out their website Here

This is Sparky (Electric Bike)
Sparky is called that over the radio because it has a habit of catching on fire!
I over heard one of the Team Caption from the Sparky Crew describing one trip through the timed mile, he remembers looking over and seeing an Ice-cream truck passing him on the access road!

Cool old BMW

Mom and Linnea wrapping another long day in the Admin. Tailor.

The Admin. tailor and PA system.

This is about 1/3 of the water we started with

This was fun to take down!

The white easy-up is pre-stage.
Riders are released from here in small groups and sent to one of the starter positions.

The fuel tanker is kept well away from the pits.
All the competitors have to buy their fuel from this guy to keep it
fair. Bring lots of cash to this gas station cause you are going to need it!

Drags
This is what we use to groom the tracks.

Each drag has a specialized job, cutting raw track to one they call the polisher.
The above drag can be adjusted by the amount of water
that is but in the barrels

Mike Akatiff and Delvene Manning.

Pardon me, do you have any Gray Poupon?

Morning on the salt

Before we left Grass Valley for the salt I Bonneville proofed the rental.
It only took me 4 years to figure this one out.

Just another bike that was built for one thing, to go fast on the Bonneville Salt Flats

Mom showing her track control skills as she launches Belen Wagner

The BUDDFAB 50cc Streamliner.
This liner went over 150 MPH this year. Not bad for weed eater motor.

Young Sporty with the blower removed and a carburetor added so they can go for a different record.

Jimbo Fisher
Jimbo with his "Competitor of the Year Award.
It could not have been awarded to someone more deserving or a nicer guy!
